Bangalore, July 20: Nebula Systems Ltd of the US has acquired a 25 per cent equity stake in the Bangalore-based ConsultIndia Software & Solutions Pvt Ltd (CSSPL). CSSPL is also planning to hit the primary market with its maiden public issue during the next fiscal.In order to go public, the Indian promoters are likely to cut their stake to 51 per cent from the existing 75 per cent. Promoted by an non-resident Indian based in America, Nebula Systems is focussing in providing one-stop software solutions to the retail industry.
CSSPL managing director NV Ranganathan told The Financial Express that Nebula Systems was bullish about the Indian market and both the companies had charted a two-year growth strategy involving expansion and investments in the country.
Without disclosing the proposed investments for the upcoming projects, he said: Currently CSSPL in the process of finalising investment plans for the Indian market. The investments will be shared on the basis of our company's equity structureof 3:1.
``Our partner Nebula Systems is negotiating with few US-based customers to set up off-shore facility in Bangalore. Recently CSSPL assisted BS World of Japan to set up their software facility in Bangalore,'' he added.
The company is also diversifying into new areas such as offering courses on retail management. CSSPL would tie-up with universities in Australia and the UK for providing diploma and post-graduate diploma courses in retail management. Recently ConsultIndia Software set up The Indian Institute of Retail Management (TIIRM) in Bangalore as its division.
The company would train 40 students in a batch of six months diploma course which will begin from August first week. There would be two semesters of three months duration. The course is also being offered through correspondence. ``We are planning to provide the course online shortly,'' Ranganathan said.
``The company is providing consultancy services to a large business group based in Goa to set up a retail chain and also to an NRIbased in USA to put up a similar retail chain in the south,'' he added.
CSSPL is working with ZDH of Germany and Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association (Kassia) to develop a database management software. Apart from Kassia, the Federation of Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Indudstries (FKCCI) and Ambattur Industrial Estate Manufacturers' Association (AIEMA) will use the software.
