New Delhi, July 11: Shree Digvijay Cement has filed a case against Essar Projects Ltd, a Essar group company, for dishonour of six cheques amounting to Rs 65 lakh issued by the latter.A Jamnagar court has issued summons to Essar Project officials involved.
Shree Digvijay Cement, originally promoted by the SK-KK Bangur group, was last year taken over Grasim Industries, the Aditya Birla group flagship. Essar Projects had purchased cement from Digvijay Cement for construction of its oil refinery at Vadinar. The six cheques issued by Essar carried signatures of vice-president JK Singh and joint general manager GS Rao.
