SoftPlus to double Indian operations

Mumbai, July 11: SoftPlus India Ltd, an Indian affiliate of the US-based SoftPlus Inc, plans to double its operations in a year as part of global expansion plans of its parent company.

"Provider of integration and customer relations management software for telecom companies worldwide, SoftPlus Inc has firmed up plans to double the staff strength in India, Europe and the US in a year," SoftPlus India managing director Vijay Uttarwar told PTI here.

The $25-million SoftPlus has over 225 software professionals on its rolls - over 125 in the US, 70 in India and about 40 in Europe now, he added.Non-resident Indians-owned Softplus Inc, would implement the recently-bagged $1-million order form the Hong Kong-based cross-border internet service provider (ISP), Asia Online Ltd, for telecom integration software through its Indian arm, he said.

SoftPlus India would integrate the various networks Asia Online had either set up or taken over across Asia, he said, adding the online company aims to become the top ISP inAsia on the lines of that of America Online, a leading ISP provide in the US.

SoftPlus developed `Connectex', a product that integrates data banks in billing, provisioning and marketing departments of mobile phone call centres for ensuring effective customer relations management, he said.

SoftPlus' other packaged products are TELCO care (for customer care) and Callex (call centre management software), both for telecom companies, and fast track (middleware software for financial institutions) in its portfolio, he added.
