New Delhi, June 9: Hewlett-Packard (HP), the US information technology major, on Friday announced the launch of its new generation Unix system and high performing personal workstations in India to enhance its market reach.The new systems, Unix and HP visualise workstations, are targeted at the growing segment of technical and creative customers who require value-added model with most advanced graphics technologies, a company release said here on Friday.
The Unix systems are powered by its award wining PA-8500 risc processor and the HP visualize personal workstations are a new family of high-performance Windows-NT based system featuring Intel's new Pentium III and Pentium III Xeon processors, it said.
HP operates in India through its fully-owned subsidiary and claims to top among other vendors in this segment as per a recent International Data Corporation survey which says HP has gained 30 per cent of the market share.
