Centre to set up Rs 48-crore seed bank to ensure steady supplies
Government will soon set up a `national seed bank' to store certified seeds to guard against any unforseen calamities and ensure easy availability of quality seeds to the farmers. The scheme is estimated to cost around Rs 47.6 crore.
FIIs net investments touch Rs 440 cr
Foreign institutional investors appear to be on a comeback trail. The net FII investments in equities have surged to Rs 440 crore till July 8, compared to Rs 410 crore during June 1999.
