Mehsana, July 8: Union home minister LK Advani on Thursday warned that Pakistan might again initiate proxy war in Jammu & Kashmir as it failed both in the war in Kargil and in getting international support.Pakistan had created the Kargil conflict as it failed in the proxy war in the state where the situation was returning to normal with toursits visiting after the BJP took over at the Centre, advani told a function here.
In 1948, Pakistan had grabbed Indian land after the cease fire, but it would not succeed in such efforts again as the "Government in India now is not the same one," Advani said. The function was organised to flag off the metre-gauge diesel-multiple unit train service between Mehsana and Taranga Hill and lay foundation stone for widening of road under-bridge here.
Earlier, at another function at Bhavnagar, the minister laid the fundation stone for the Rs 365-crore gauge conversion work between Bhavnagar and Surendranagar. He also accepted Rs 30 lakh donated by Alang-Sosia ShipbreakersAssociation to the Kargil fund.
