Amiti Sen

Now, a large number of cumbersome yet unavoidable banking exercises can be performed by account holders without budging an inch. All that one has to do is clutch the mouse and click away.

The bank has also decided to extend the unique facility of debit cards to account holders in Delhi and Mumbai. The facility is at present available only in Bangalore.

Through internet banking, customers can not only get account balance and see statements of account online but they can also transfer funds across Citibank accounts, order demand drafts, pay utility bills, pay Citibank card bills, stop payment on cheques and order cheque books and deposit slips.

Citibank card account holders can order drafts, increase credit limit as well as apply for a second credit card on line.

In Delhi, Citibank has already enteredinto a tie-up with MTNL which would enable users to pay their telephone bills online. To get connected, all that one needs is a Netscape browser or a Microsoft Internet Explorer browser (version 4.0 or a newer version), a Citibank account and Citicard number abd Citibank H-PIN number.

To access the internet one has to type in www.citibank.com/india and reach the Citibank Home Page.
