Crisil launches two new publications

Paramvir Singh
Mumbai, July 5: Crisil has announced the launch of two series of publications called `Crisil alert' and `Crisil insight'.

An agency release issued on Monday said that while `Crisil alert' will bring issues of importance and immediacy to the attention of the opinion makers and market place, the second product, `Crisil insight' will offer in depth commentary on contemporary analytical issues, aimed at practitioners.

"Crisil alert will be published whenever the need arises, whereas `Crisil insight' will get published once in a month. Subscriptions for both will be Rs 1,000 a year and these services will be offered by the newly established publications group of Crisil," Crisil said, adding that the publications group of Crisil will derive its strength from the analytical team present in Crisil and the database build over the last 12 years of operations.

Meanwhile, in the first of the `Crisil alert' series, Crisil has published its current assessment of the Indian economy and industry. The publication whichwas introduced on Monday, highlights the well recognisable signs of the economy and outlines Crisil's emerging positiveness on the industry performance. It also enlists caveats for sustaining the uptrends.

"The key issues on which sustainability of an industrial upturn depends are the higher Index of Industrial production (6.8 per cent), rise in production trends in certain industries, increase in local prices of commodities and the fall in the number of new issues raised through the capital markets," Crisil alert said, adding that a major caveats towards sustaining growth is the increase in consumer demand, which could revive with better `rabi' production and enhance rural purchasing powers.
