Chennai, July 2: Healthcare major SmithKline Beecham on Friday relaunched its health drink `Boost,' targetting a sales turnover of Rs 100 crore in 1999 from its health food drink operations.``We are aiming at Rs 100 crore turnover during 1999 with a growth rate of 23 per cent in the health food drink segment,'' company general manager (marketing) R Shyam Sunder told reporters here.
The company, with 10 per cent share in the domestic health food drink market, decided to relaunch the product using star cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, who has been its brand ambassador for the past decade.
The new drink has added nutrients as per international guidelines prescribed by World Health Organisation and Food and Agriculture Organisation, Shyam Sunder said.
The company also undertook an effort to refurbish the image of Boost by getting a British company Ziggraut to develop a more contemporary packaging, he said.
