New Delhi, July 1: The US-based More Group, a division of Clear Channel Outdoor, announced the launch of its operations in India on July 1. One of the leading global firms in outdoor advertising, the More Group has entered into a joint venture with Ogilvy & Mather and Aaren. The Indian outdoor market is estimated at $200 million and accounts for 10 per cent of the advertising spend. It is growing at the rate of 15-20 per cent per annum. Says More Group (India) CEO MM Nandwani: ``India will play a key role in More Group's global expansion plans.''Ogilvy & Mather will support More in getting an agency/client perspective on the requirements of the Indian market. Aaren, which enjoys international reputation for quality of sites and level of service, will provide local knowledge .
More Group India's major clients are expected to be leading worldwide agencies, top companies and institutions. According to Nandwani: ``A nation-wide network, transparency in pricing and reliability are assets that will see uscementing our relationship with key corporates in the long run.''The first international outdoor advertising group to enter India, More has already started acquiring high quality sites and installing billboards across leading Indian cities.
By December 2000, More expects to develop a national network of 100 well lit, back-illuminated 48-sheet and 96-sheet billboards in areas of high impact. Initially More will focus on the top ten cities before spreading to satellite towns. More's worldwide customers include Nokia, Sony, Gillette, Kodak, American Express, LG, McDonalds, and Microsoft.
