Lycos, Lotus join hands

Lycos, an internet portal company, and Lotus Development Corp, have joined hands to embed the diverse internet tools and rich of the Lycos Network into the desktop of Lotus Notes Release 5. The diverse internet tools and the content of the Lycos will be integrated into a forthcoming version of the Notes R5 and will be distributed around the world in several languages.

i2 Technologies IndiaThink Systems has been renamed i2Technologies India. The company has three development centres in the country and provides the business process optminsation software in Rhythm. The company says that the solution will enable enterprise wide optmisation while powering e-commerce initiatives to save around $50 million to corporates by 2005.

Cisco appointed vendor for Reuters

Reuters has appointed Cisco Systems as the primary vendor for internet technology networks. By adopting Cisco standards across all its IP networks, Reuters will accelerate the use of Net and reduceoperational costs. Cisco is a minority shareholder in Tibco Software, the Reuters subsidiary that develops software for corporate networks.

Adobe PhotoShop 5.5

Adobe Systems has launched the newest version of Adobe PhotoShop 5.5, an image editing software. The software includes ImageReady 2.0 software, the leading Web production component that interacts seamlessly with PhotoShop software to provide a complete creative environment.

Akashvani programmes

Prasar Bharati has started a number of programmes on Akashvani for the members of the armed forces. AIR, Delhi has started a programme entitled ``Frontier Show'' which is a request show for members of the armed forces. This programme of Western Music contains messages/greetings/recorded phone messages for serving personnel. The Vividh Bharati Service Mumbai has started a programme entitled ``Hello Jaimala''. The Delhi Station FM Channel is also broadcasting a one-hour programme.

Smiles

Transmarco Data Systems, part of theprofessional management group of Transmarco Ltd, has opted for Indian company Global Groupware Solution's CRM solution Smiles. Transmarco will utilise Smiles to provide optimum support to the clients by reducing the cycle time of responding to the customer's request and maximise the productivity from its employees.
