NTPC employees' gesture for jawans

Public sector National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) employees will contribute one-day salary to the Army Central Welfare Fund for the rehabilitation of the families of the brave soldiers who laid down their lives at Kargil. The corporation, in a statement, said that the contribution from 24,000 employees is estimated to be around Rs 88 lakh.

Reliance first-quarter results on July 8

Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) will announce its first quarter (April-June) unaudited financial results for the financial year 1999-2000 July 8,1999. A notice to this effect was sent to the stock exchange on Monday, according a Reliance Industries Ltd press release.

BHEL sets up facility

The public sector Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has set up a Rs 34.57 crore exclusive facility, first of its kind in the world, for manufacturing long modules. A BHEL release said that this unique facility could handle modules up to a maximum length of 26 metres, used inbuilding heat recovery steam generators. The Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd unit in Tiruchirapalli was supplying two dual pressure building heat recovery steam generators to NTPC for the 430mw combined cycle power plant at Faridabad.

Trikaya Grey appoints VP

Ramesh Ramanathan has joined Trikaya Grey as senior vice-president, creative. Winner of numerous national and international awards including a one show and an art directors' club nomination, Ramesh brings to Trikaya Grey his 15 years of experience at O&M Madras, Bangalore and Mumbai.

Clariant bags award

Clariant India, an affiliate of Swiss multinational Clariant Ltd, has received the Dyestuff Manufacturers' Association of India's (DMAI) award for excellent performance in the field ofpollution control in the category of large scale units. This is the third time that Clariant has bagged this award. Clariant vice president (site management) R Y Mani, received the award on behalf of Clariant India, a company release said.

Escotel ties up with GB Pant varsity

Escotel, a leading cellular operator in the country with services in Kerala, Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh, on Monday announced it has tied up with GB Pant university of agriculture and technology to provide advice on the various kind of crops, their maintenance, and fertilisers to the subscribers. Another service vetline will provide free veterinary advice to its subscribers.
