New Delhi, June 21: Tvs-Suzuki Ltd (TSL) will roll out seven new bi-wheelers during 1999-2000 even as sales target for its four stroke scooter `Spectra' for the year has been scaled down by 52 per cent, a top company official said.TSL has pegged the sales target of 48,000 units for the Spectra for the current financial year, TSL chairman and managing director Venu Srinivasan said here. As per the company's original projections, sales during the fiscal should have been around one lakh units.
TSL feels faulty pricing to be the reason behind the low sales for the vehicle. However, corrective measures have been taken and the company had recently rolled out economy versions of the `Spectra', priced at Rs 4,000 below the existing model.
The original deluxe version of Spectra is priced at Rs 37,777 while the economy version carries a price tag of Rs 33,950. With the launch of the two new models, TVS-Spectra straddles a price range of Rs 33,950 to Rs 40,000.
