Wilkinson Sword gets ahead by a whisker

Wilkinson Sword India Ltd's (WSIL) Ticket to Cricket contest, which was open on all Wilman-II systems and cartridges, attracted over 25,000 entries from different age groups from 15-40. The company claims that the association of Wilman range of products with cricket has heightened the excitement around the brand.

The contest selected four lucky winners, from a draw in Delhi--each won an all-expense paid trip to the World Cup final at the Lord's in London. The contest involved consumers answering a simple cricket-related question.

Besides witnessing the World Cup final, the winners, who left on June 18 for London, were also taken on a guided tour of London. Says WSIL managing director Jagdish Kini, ``India's elimination in the Super Six did not affect promotions as the results of the promotion were already out by mid-May 1999.'' It must have been a close shave though.
