BIFR asks Mahavir Butyl Rubber to down its shutters
PRESS TRUST OF INDIA
New Delhi, June 20: The Board for Industrial and Financial Reconstruction (BIFR) has suggested winding up of sick company Mahavir Butyl Rubber India Ltd (MBRIL) saying its net worth has been completely eroded. "The bench confirms its prima facie opinion that sick company MBRIL is not likely to make its net worth exceed its accumulated losses within a reasonable time while meeting all its financial obligations and is thus not likely to become viable in future," the latest BIFR order said."It is just, equitable and in public interest that MBRIL be wound up under section 20 (1) of the Sick Industrial Companies Act (Sica)," it concluded. The bench has directed that its opinion be forwarded to the high court concerned along with copies of earlier orders and proceedings. The bench noted that the company had failed to deposit the total Rs 15 lakh within 30 days of the last hearing. "The failure of company and promoters to make the deposit in a non-lien account even till date and their plea that they will now beable to make the deposit after examining the order clearly shows that the promoters are not serious enough to revive the company," it said.
