MUMBAI, June 16: Prudential ICICI asset management company's FMCG fund, a sectoral fund investing in fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) companies, has reopened for subscription."The fund, with a collection of Rs 73 crore, is an open-ended growth fund that seeks to generate long-term capital appreciation with 90 per cent investments in equities and equity-related securities of a select group of FMCG companies", Prudential ICICI, managing director Ajay Srinivasan said in a statement in Mumbai today.
The fund, with a focus on the personal care and food products business, reopened for subscription on June 5 withan opening net asset value of Rs 10.28.
FMCG stocks have performed better than the market in the last three years, giving an annualised return of 34.3 per cent as compared to an annualised return of only four per cnet in the BSE 200 and Sensex scrips, he added.
