Wipro Peripherals appoints CEO

Vineet Agrawal has been appointed as chief executive officer of Wipro Peripherals Division of Wipro Infotech Systems and Services Group with effect from July 1. Agrawal is currently vice-president, marketing of Wipro consumer care and lighting group. He succeeds Ram Agarwal.

Birla 3M to organise symposium

Birla 3M will organise a symposium on aesthetic dentistry focusing on appeareace related dental treatments and latest techniques used in the field. The seminar will function as a platform for dental professionals to meet and exchange knowledge and expertise on aesthetic dentistry. Loma Linda University, California faculty James R Dunn will address the dentist fraternity in Bangalore on June 17, said a release.

BSEL Information posts Rs 5.76cr net

BSEL Information Systems has posted a net profit on Rs 5.76 crore on a turnover of Rs 7.62 crore for 1998-99. The company had paid an interim dividend of 20 per cent for year, which will be final. Thereserves stand at Rs 3.74 crore while EPS is Rs 5.68. BSEL has a paid up equity capital of Rs 10.15 crore. It has developed a software for on-line registration, professionalcareer.com during the period.

Lufthansa gets clean chit

German international airlines Lufthansa has emerged as a quiet and clean fleet, according to its new environment report "Balance 98/99". The airline increased the efficiency of fuel consumption of its aircraft in 1998 though it failed to achieve the target of specific consumption per passenger, mainly due to lower number of seats following refitting of the long-haul fleet, an airlines release on Wednesday said.

Infosys contributes to hospital fund

Infosys Technologies Ltd has contributed a sum of Rs 40 lakh towards setting up central airconditioning system at Mahabodhi casualty and burns ward of Victoria Hospital in Bangalore on Wednesday.
