Allied Nippon, PTR Wadco set up units in Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad, June 9: Hindustan Coca Cola Bottling North-West, Allied Nippon Ltd and PTR Wadco are among the reputed names which have chosen Ghaziabad district as a base for their future operations.

Hindustan Coca Cola, a multinational company, has set up manufacturing facilities at Mussoorie-Gulawati Road at an initial investment of Rs 100 crore and will produce non-alcoholic brewerages.

Allied Nippon, another multinational, will manufacture breaklining and has put in Rs 6 crore at Sahibabad industrial area in Ghaziabad.

Another multinational PTR Wadco has invested Rs 13.5 crore for the manufacture of automobile parts at its Sahibabad plants under its expansion and diversification programme. The company will supply a major portion of its production to Maruti Udyog. An agreement to this effect has already been signed.

"The district has firmed up investment to the tune of Rs 835 crore as against the target of Rs 700 crore during the year. The existing units has spent an additional Rs 618 crore on itsexpansion and diversification programmes," general manager (industries) Vinod Kumar told The Financial Express.

The units which have embarked on expansion and diversification include Bhushan Steel and Strips with an investment of Rs 530 crore, Samtel Electronic Devices at Rs 22.3 crore, The Excelasia Food at Rs 14 crore, Magnum Papers Limited and Dabur India Limited with an investment of Rs 13 and 10 crore respectively, Kumar added.
