MYM Trade in tech tie-up with MCS

Hyderabad, June 6: In a bid to provide web-based trading and e-commerce solutions, Hyderabad-based MYM Trade & Channel Ltd (MYM) has entered into an exclusive technical tie-up with Microsoft Consultancy Services (MCS). The agreement with MCS will cover designing and implementing an online networking to provide various business services apart from hosting Web content, MY Maharishi, chairman and managing director of the company, told newsmen here on Sunday.

The proposed website, to provide commercial online trading options, will be operational from October 1, 1999. The estimated project cost of about Rs 100 crore, will be augmented through a group of franchises, each one to invest approximately about Rs 25 lakh on the infrastructure, Maharishi said.The company has proposed to invest atleast 20 per cent of the total project cost as of now, he said.

MYM, which was established in 1996, is engaged in the e-commerce solutions business globally.

According to Srinivasa Rao M, president of the company, MYM willutilise the Microsoft technologies to implement internet technologies and Web applications for e-commerce. These include; Microsoft commercial internet system mail server, system news server, content replication server and conference server.

Initially, the web-based business services will be available in 40 major cities and 100 towns in India. Later, MYM has plans to extend the facility to 35 countries. It has plans to utilise the mix of wide area network and internet for better connectivity, Maharishi said.
