New Delhi, June 4: India on Friday rejected as ``untenable'' Pakistan's claim that the line of control (LoC) was not clearly demarcated and asked Islamabad to give up its `desperate and foolhardy' attempts to change it, asserting that a meaningful dialogue could be held only if Pakistan ``begins to act accordingly.''
An external affairs ministry spokesman told reporters here that the comments in this regard made by Pakistan foreign minister Sartaj Aziz were ``evidently a demonstration of their (Pakistan's) designs to manufacture a rationale for aggression,'' in Kargil.
``We call upon Pakistan to respect the sanctity of the LoC, give up its desperate and foolhardy attempts to change it, and to stop its cross-border terrorism against india. A meaningful dialogue can only take place if Pakistan begins to act accordingly,'' he said stressing ``the LoC is well-defined and fully settled.''
