Sintex targets 25% turnover growth

PTI
Calcutta, June 4: Sintex Industries Ltd, manufacturer of water tanks, is targetting a 25 per cent growth in its turnover for 1999-2000.

During 1998-99, the turnover of the company stood at Rs 220 crore. Speaking at the launch of `Prelam' products for interior designing in the city here on Friday, wholetime director of Sintex, SB Dangayach, said prelaminated products, made from PVC, was a substitute for timber which was gradually becoming a scarce product due to increasing deforestation.

On the price difference, he said, while timber would cost around Rs 250 per square feet, Sintex prelam products would be around Rs 75 per square feet.

The Sintex official said the plastics division contributed to more than 60 per cent of the total turnover.

The product would find application in interior designing of kitchens, shelves, cabinets, office cubicles, false ceiling partitions and cupboards, he said.
