Indirect tax collections spurt 18% in May
Excise collections have registered a growth of 23% in May 1999 over the same month last year. Customs collections too have shown a remarkable increase of 14.8% in May over the same period in 1998.

Task force wants 30-yr lease for 4 airports

Nachiketa released
Flight lieutenant K Nachiketa was released by Pakistan on Thursday night after eight days of captivity. Nachiketa, 26, was handed over to officials of the International Committee of the Red Cross at the foreign office.
