"We're planning a seperate manufacturing facility with an initial investment of $20 million for colour display monitors at Noida," managing director of Samsung Electronics KS Kim told PTI.

D-Link (India) Ltd has launched a new DP-601M internet server with in-built modem for small workgroups or SOHO networks. The in-built 56Kbps modem eliminates the cost of purchasing and installing a separate modem. Through this single internet server with built-in modem, multiple users on a network can simultaneously access the internet. It is priced at Rs 25,000.
IBM to launch standardised Unix-based server next year
IBM plans to globally launch a new standardised, Unix-based computer operating system (server) on AIX platform next year, a seniorcompany official on Wednesday said. "IBM, which is working with other three software majors -- Intel, SCO and Sequent, will introduce a 64-bit server, in the third quarter of 2000," general manager, AIX IBM server group, Rajiv B Samant, told newsmen in Mumbai.
BJP Goa launches website
The Goa unit of BJP became the first political party in Goa to use the World Wide Web when Union home minister LK Advani launched the official website of the party in Panaji on Wednesday. In his message on the web site, Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee said, "India has the potential of being a world leader in the field of computers. It is thus pleasing to note that the Goa unit of the BJP has used information technology as part of its campaign in the assembly elections." The site will provide easy access and information on the Goan election campaign as well as activities of the BJP in Goa.
