New digital camera from Kodak

Kodak India has launched a new model of digital camera - the Kodak DC265 - which is an improvement on the DC260 model. Besides offering a 3X (38 to 115 mm equivalent) zoom and a resolution to ensure photo-realistic 8x10 inch prints, its added features include: faster boot-up time and processing between shots and triple the burst capture performance.

The new model retains a focus range from 0.3m to infinity. Its Picture Easy software, combined with intuitive graphic interface lets the user access digital pictures with point and click simplicity. The DC265 is fully Y2 compliant and is priced at Rs 73,000, excluding taxes.

Derby Beer makes a mark

Asian Consumer Products Ltd has launched Derby Super Strong Beer in Delhi. It is already available in the Rajasthan markets, and has captured 5 per cent of the market, claims the company. Plans are also afoot to introduce Derby Lite and Macho premium lager in the Capital soon.

Winners' choice

BDA, the ownerof Officer's Choice Prestige Whisky has introduced a contest which aims at converting the euphoria surrounding the World Cup into sales revenue. Titled `Officer's Choice World Cup Winning Choice Competition', the contest invites consumers to list their choice of semi-finalists, finalists and eventual winners of World Cup 1999 in entry forms available at about 250 permit rooms in Mumbai, Thane and Vashi.

The prizes include: scooters, colour televisions, washing machines, tape recorders and wrist watches. Winners will be chosen from among the all-correct entries through a lucky draw. With sales of more than 2.5 million cases, Officer's Choice Prestige Whisky has been designated as the third fastest growing regional spirits brand in the world by the London-based Drinks International Bulletin.

rchies launches Zodiac mugs

Archies Greetings & Gifts Ltd has launched Zodiac Mugs featuring the characteristics of one Zodiac sign. Priced at Rs 150, each mug carries the colourful picture of a Zodiac sign.The mugs will be available at all Archies outlets across the country. Prior to the launch of this new range, Archies had launched `Trophy Mugs' and `Smash Mugs'. Archies is a leader in the personal communications industry.

A look at edible oil packaging

The Indian Institute of Packaging is organising its third edible oil packaging awareness programme, ``Packaged Oils for Consumer Safety'' on June 3 in Bangalore.

The programme will highlight the alternate packaging devices available to the oil sector, cost effectiveness, packaging machinery, marking and coding equipment in the sector.
