Mumbai, June 2: Reliance industries has once again hiked the prices of polymer, polyester and intermediates effective from June 1. Polyester staple fibre price was hiked to Rs 49 per kg in June from Rs 45 per kg in May.While partially-oriented yarn prices (POY) was hiked to Rs 61 per kg from Rs 57 per kg in May, purified terepthalic acid (PTA) price was hiked to Rs 26.1 per kg from Rs 24 per kg.
The company has effected five price revisions in the last three months. Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) prices have grown by 40 per cent in the last three months, followed by polypropylene (PP) by 33 per cent and polyethylene by 26 per cent, sources said.
Polyester prices, PSF and poy, have risen by 21 per cent and 13 per cent, since march this year.
Prices of intermediates, PTA and MEG, have meanwhile increased by 16 per cent and 21 per cent over the same period.
Poly ethylene Terephthalate (pet) and Linear Alkyl Benezene (lab) prices have also grown by 8 per cent and 2 per cent.
RIL's pre-excise list pricesper kg are as follows, PSF at Rs 49, POY at Rs 61, PE at Rs 43.2, PP at Rs 39.2, PVC at Rs 36.86, PTA and MEG at Rs 26.1, PET at Rs 41.5 and LAB at Rs 48.9.
