India Abroad News Service
New York, June 1: A leading American software company, trying to maintain its leadership in technology innovation in the Internet professional services industry, has appointed an Indian American as its chief technology officer. US Interactive Inc, an Internet professional services company based in Philadelphia, announced the appointment of Ajit Prabhu, one of the co-founders of Invengen, a professional services company acquired by US Interactive in March this year.

"Ajit's deep technical expertise and management skills will enable US Interactive to continue its leadership in technology innovation in the Internet professional services industry," Steve Zarrilli, Interactive president said.

"With the addition of Ajit and Jim (James Huser, appointed senior vice-president along with Prabhu), we gain two key executives with exceptional experience," Zarrilli said.

Prabhu, an electronics engineer from Bangalore, was a senior manager with the Deloitte and Touche Consulting Group prior to co-founding Invengen. He also spent nine years at AT&T Bell Laboratories, now known as Lucent Technologies, where he pioneered and commercialised several technologies in the computer-aided-design and semi-conductor industries.

The company said these executives, who bring more than 35 years of experience, provide additional talent and leadership to further enhance its consulting and services practices. Prabhu, an MBA in Finance and International Business from New York University and a Master in Computer Engineering from the University of Detroit, will focus in his new job on recruiting and retaining technology talent. He will also ensure setting and maintaining quality and process standards and provide leadership for the company.
