Chandigarh, May 26: The Punjab State Electronics Development and Production Corporation Ltd (ECP) on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Mahindra & Mahindra group for the establishment of a Rs 250-crore information-technology (IT) park.The project would be the single largest IT infrastructure project and would bolster the development of IT and software industry in Punjab, a spokesman said.
The Mahindra and Mahindra group is one of the leading domestic industrial conglomerates with turnover exceeding Rs 4,000 crore and has vast experience in the field of infrastructure-development projects.
The project will be implemented jointly by the group and ECP and will provide over six lakh square feet of covered area with state-of-the-art `plug and play' facilities to the software units.
Besides, it will offer high-speed data communication Internet access, centralized computing facilities, the spokesman said, adding it will also provide other facilities like business and recreationcentres, shopping mall, auditorium, residential flats, bank, and postal facility.
