SKF Bearings posts Rs 44.3cr net loss

Skf bearings has recorded a net loss of Rs 44.3 crore during the 1998-99 fiscal as compared to a net profit of Rs 5.9 crore in the previous year. Skf bearings' total income for the year stood at Rs 347.4 crore, down 4.1 per cent from Rs 362.2 crore in the previous year. Its other income stood at Rs 11.8 crore as against Rs 12.2 crore in the previous year while total expenditure was Rs 285.8 crore (Rs 305.7 crore).

Texmaco net dives 63.7%

Texmaco Ltd, the KK Birla group company, has reported 63.71 per cent decline in profit after tax at Rs 4.50 crore during the financial year 1998-99 compared with a profit of Rs 12.39 crore in 1997-98. The board of directors which met in Calcutta on Friday to consider annual accounts, however, recommended a dividend of 20 per cent to equity shareholders.

Santro registration

Hyundai Motor India Limited on Friday approached the Delhi Transport Authority to allow registration of its 999cc Santro, which has metthe India 2000 emission norms as mandated by the Supreme Court. According to an official spokesperson, Hyundai has submitted all the relevant documents, along with the supporting test figures of Automotive Research Association of India certifying emission levels of HC, NOX and CO in the Santro much within the India 2000 specifications, to the Delhi Transport Commissioner's office.

Coke drops can prices

Faced with increasing competition from Pepsi's 500ml carry away pack, Coca-Cola India has dropped prices of its canned softdrinks by Rs 3 to Rs 15. However, the new price package comes in the garb of a `can-the-heat' offer. PepsiCo had recently introduced the 500ml package of Pepsi priced at Rs 18, the same tag as the 330ml cans. However, Pepsi has stated that they would not drop prices of their cans.

Kinetic post-sales service

The Pune-based Kinetic Motor Company has launched a separate service brand - `Kinetic Care' - a collection of service initiatives to meet post-sale requirements."The company plans to give the best customer care in the country in the next three years," Kinetic Engineering Ltd joint managing director Sulajja F Motwani said said in a statement. One such initiative under the new service brand is the Kinetic mileage advantage for which camps would be held across 38 cities starting May 24.

Adani board meet on May 31

The board of directors of Adani Exports Ltd will meet in Mumbai on May 31 to take on record the audited financial results for the financial year ended March 31 and recommendations of dividend.

Design Degree show 1999

The Industrial Design Centre of the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, is organising an annual industrial designs exhibition, "Windows to Thousands", to be held from May 28-30, 1999, at the Nehru Science Centre in Worli. The exhibition will have a wide range of industrial designs by IDC students, including consultancy projects for large companies like IOCL, L&T, Bajaj, Crompton, Cadburys, Johnson and Johnson.

Aclarification

Ashok Leyland has not launched LNG buses in Calcutta as implied by the heading of a report in The Financial Express on May 19.
