HCstrikes down plea against Reliance Petro

A division bench of the Gujarat high court dismissed two petitions challenging the validity of permissions granted to Reliance Petroleum Ltd (RPL), Jamnagar to construct a pipeline from Single Buoy Mooring (SBM) to the RPL refinery.

The petitions, filed as public interest litigations, were submitted to the Gujarat High court since the Supreme Court had earlier dismissed the petitioners' Special Leave Petition (SPL). However, the supreme court had permitted the petitioners to challenge an authorisation given by the Gujarat government to the chief Wild Life Warden to grant permission to set up the pipeline, according to a RIL release.
