Bina Ramani, family arrested, released on bail 

 
New Delhi, May 8: Two days after Manu Sharma, prime suspect in Jessica Lal murder case surrendered, Delhi police on Saturday arrested Bina Ramani, owner of the illegal south Delhi bar where the ramp model was shot dead, and three others even as two accomplices of Sharma, Vikas Yadav and Titu remained at large.

British passport holder Bina Ramani, her Canadian husband George Mailhot and daughter Malini, a US national, were arrested for allegedly violating the Excise Act by possessing and supplying liquor at their Tamarind Cafe restaurant without licence. However, metropolitan magistrate Rajneesh Kumar granted them bail on a personal bond of Rs 10,000 and a surety of like amount each later in the evening. Police also took away the passports of all the three for verification and was examining whether as foreign nationals, they had taken requisite permission for running a business.

Meanwhile, police arrested Amit Jhingan, one of Manu Sharma's acquaintances who allegedly helped him in hiding the .22 borepistol used to kill Jessica.Jhingan, arrested on Friday night from south-west Delhi on the basis of disclosures allegedly made by Manu, was remanded to 14 days judicial custody till May 21 by a city court on Saturday.

Police also raided several places to trace vikas yadav alias vickey, son of rajya sabha member DP Yadav and Titu, both friends of Manu Sharma, who allegedly helped him in destroying evidence, police sources said.
