Adobe unveils Acrobat 4.0

Mumbai, May 6: Leading global desktop software company, Adobe Systems, on Thursday unveiled Acrobat 4.0, an advanced version of software for business document exchange, in India.

"Based on the Abode portable document format (PDF), Acrobat 4.0 software enables business users to more reliably share, collaborate and deliver documents exactly as intended in their office computing environments," managing director of Adobe, South Asia, Loh Teck Heng, told newspersons here. The software provides a rich set of annotation and security tools, facilitates reuse of information with PDF files and delivers high-end professional publishing features, he said, adding the package was priced at Rs 15,000.

Adobe's applications specialist for South Asia, Graham Perkins, said the enhanced software makes it easier to convert files into PDF, capture and download web pages, reuse information within PDF files, review, annotate and digitally sign documents and optimising files for print workflows.
