Market assigns FMCG tag to Marico Industries
Marico Industries is fast graduating into a fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) company. Marico is on a brand building exercise and has bought `Mediker', a key haircare brand from Procter & Gamble. Further, the company is on the lookout to acquire or market many more brands.
Bullish fervour stays; Nifty up 11.7 points
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) opened on a positive note on Friday and continued its uptrend as pivotals improved smartly on buying support from foreign institutional investors (FIIs) coupled with value picking by other institutional investors. The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) was closed on account of Buddh Purnima.
Tata funds outperform benchmark indices comfortably
The Tata Asset Management Company (AMC) has identified the schemes under its management that are eligible for declaring tax free dividends, going by the recent budget proposals, for the period ended March 31, 1999. The schemes include, among others, the Tata Tax Saving Scheme.
