SC ruling on Euro emission norms welcomed
The Indian Foundation of Transport Research and Training (IFTRT) has welcomed the Supreme Court order to enforce Euro emission norms in the national capital region from June 1 but said more was needed to be done by the government and auto manufacturers. The external affairs ministry has brought out a brochure titled "India Means Business - Perspectives" with the assistance of global consultancy firm Arthur Andersen. The brochure explains the economic environment in India and focusses on the investment policy framework and opportunities in infrastructure and other sectors. The brochure has been prepared for the use of all missions abroad in their investment promotion endeavours.
ONGC to bring in 22.5 million tonnes of equity oil
ONGC's ambitious growth strategy for the approachingmillennium, that emphasises acquiring equity interests in overseas production ventures, will see an inflow of 22.5 million tonnes of equity oil to the country by 2010. The corporation would produce 100 million tonnes of oil and gas on its own by 2010 including the equity oil part. Its overseas operations arm, ONGC Videsh, is close to acquiring discovered hydrocarbon fields in Kazakhstan.
