Thermax net down 16% to Rs 38.14cr
The Pune-based Thermax Ltd announced on Tuesday a marginal slip of 5 per cent in turnover to Rs 496.48 crore for the year ended March 1999 as against Rs 522.70 crore reported last year. The net profit fell by 15.9 per cent to Rs 38.14 crore compared to Rs 45.33 crore recorded last year.In the last quarter, the company chalked turnover of Rs 188.02 crore and earned a net profit was Rs 33.16 crore. Kirloskar Copeland Ltd on Tuesday announced plans to double its manufacturing capacity for commercial refrigeration condensing units. At present, the joint venture company has capacity to make 10,000 units annually at its facility in Karad, about 160 km south of Pune in Maharashtra, said associate vice-president PS Damle. "We are witnessing an upsurge in demand for condensing units of commercial refrigerators. Freshinvestments will be made to bridge the demand-supply gap."
Hinduja National commissioned
Hinduja National Power Corporation Ltd, (HNPCL), a joint venture promoted by the Hinduja group and the National Power and UK, has commenced civil work with the ground-breaking ceremony at the project site on Sunday. The project comprises of two units 520mw each. The first unit is scheduled to be commissioned in 28 months from the date of financial closure and the second unit six months thereafter. Sumitomo and Hitachi are the EPC contractors of the project.
Surya Roshni net up 16%
Lighting major Surya Roshni Ltd (SRL) has registered a 16.11 per cent hike in its net profit at Rs 12.83 crore in the year ended March 31, 1999 as compared to Rs 11.05 crore achieved in the previous year .According to the unaudited figures, sales of Surya Roshni increased by 12.36 per cent to Rs 710.24 crore in the year 1998-99 from Rs 632.09 crore in 1997-98, a company release said.
Hindustan Composites salesdrop
Hindustan Composites Ltd has reported a marginal drop in its net sales to Rs 55.56 crore in the 1998-99 fiscal, against Rs 58.42 crore the previous year. Net profit during the fiscal has declined to Rs 0.79 crore, from Rs 2.04 crore in the corresponding previous fiscal.
Mafatlal Dyes posts Rs 1.3cr net
Mafatlal Dyes & Chemicals Ltd has posted a net profit of Rs 1.30 crore during the quarter ended March 31, 1999, against Rs 1.11 crore during the same period last year. Net sales moved down to Rs 17.14 crore, from Rs 17.70 crore last year. Other income rose to Rs 2.46 crore, from Rs 2.31 crore. Total expenditure came down to Rs 17.05 crore, from Rs 17.39 crore. Gross profit was at Rs 2.25 crore, compared with Rs 2.37 crore.
Santro deliveries cross 20,000 mark
Hyundai Motor India's deliveries of the Santro crossed 20,000 units within a span of six months, aggregating 20,241 units till date. Hyundai had closed the financial year 1998-99 by notching sales of 17,647 units. Santrohas in fact doubled its sales in March this year with 4290 units sold.
