Apollo net records 203% jump

Debashis Chaudhuri
New Delhi, April 27: Apollo International Ltd has recorded a 203 per cent jump in its net profit for the financial year 1998-99 as compared to the previous fiscal.

The company has recorded a 56 per cent jump in its turnover to Rs 25 crore during the same period as against what it did in 1997-98.

During the last fiscal Apollo International exported one lakh pieces of leather garment to Europe. In Europe, the company's products are been marketed under reputed brand names.

According to a company release, Apollo International's products have been well accepted in other overseas markets like the US.

Apollo International's joint president Raaja Kanwar stated that the Indian leather industry has primarily been known for lower and medium leathers but the company has been successful in breaking this barrier.
