Bank of Punjab achieves Y2K compliance
FE NEWS SERVICE
The Bank of Punjab has become one of the first few new private sector banks to have attained Y2K compliance. It has used `Bancs2000' from Infosys to automate all its operations. The bank had earlier transferred all its branches to the `Year 2000' ready version of Bancs2000 which had received `Year 2000' certification from the Information Technology Association of America.FAA tests DIA facilities for Y2K glitches The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) recently tested its systems for Y2K glitches using Denver International Airport's (DIA) facilities. The test was the first designed to ensure readiness of FAA's air traffic control computers for the year 2000. United Airlines participated in the test, creating 15 different simulated flight plans occurring both before and after the rollover to year 2000. "With the successful conclusion of these comprehensive tests, we are now fully geared to tackle the Y2K issue. For India, it gains special significance, keeping in mind the new non-stop Delhi-Chicago flight beginning October 31, 1999" said United Airlines country director for India David Solloway.
