Disposable contact lenses from Bausch and Lomb

Contact lens wearers take heed. Bausch and Lomb, one of the leading manufacturers of contact lenses, has launched a new disposable lens, which can be disposed quarterly. The new lenses use a material called `Optima TW FM', which the company claims is ultra-thin and allows greater permeability of oxygen to the retina. `Optima TW FM' is made from a polymer, polymacon, which is non-ionic and has a low water content. Because of these features, the lenses can resist protein deposits and are more comfortable for the wearer especially in polluted cities. But the best part of the deal is that a year's supply costs Rs 2,200 , much lower than the prices for the current range of disposable contact lenses available in the market.
