Bangalore, April 22: Zenith Computers Ltd has chosen to play ball with cricketer Anil Kumble's Stump Vision bundling the sports company's new set of interactive CDs with its Internet-ready PCs (iPCs).The CDs, including an encyclopedia on the World Cup and an interactive game, were launched here on Wednesday at a function attended by members of the '83 and '99 World Cup India teams.
The CDs priced at Rs 790 will be bundled free with Zenith iPCs that sport tags starting from Rs 40,000 for purchases made from May 1 to June 30 to cash in on the World Cup cricket fever that is expected to sweep the country.
Zenith is also one of the sponsors for the webside www.goworldcup99.com. The company has announced that in the event of the Indian team returning with the trophy, each player would be gifted a Zenith Pentium III iPC and a Pentium II iPC in the event of the team finishing as runners up. If the team fails to qualify for the finals, the company will gift iPCs to the best bowler, best batsman and bestfielder.
The company claims its iPC is the first fully-featured ``instant Internet PC in the world''. It boasts of a built-in 56 kbps modem, Internet keyboard, voice email and VSNL dialler. The company shipped 50,000 PCs last fiscal clocking Rs 200 crore in sales.
