SoftTech Engineers in JV with CSI

Neeraj Saxena
NEW DELHI, Apr 22: Pune-based civil engineering and architectural software company, SoftTech Engineers, has entered into a joint venture with Computer Service in Ingenieurburo GambH (CSI) of Germany.

As per the agreement, CSI will market SoftTech's structural design software, Struds 6.0, in the German market. Struds 6.0 is India's first Windows-based software package for civil engineering.

CSI had been looking for partners in civil engineering software, particularly in structural design and had received many enquiries from all over the world. As part of the JV, SoftTech will also develop and maintain a FEM (finite element method) based package called CS-Feba for CSI.

Struds 6.0 is claimed to be very user-friendly and the only one of its kind on a Windows platform. CSI now intends to leverage its marketing strength in Germany to promote Struds 6.0. The software is currently being customised and translated into German to meet specific requirements in Germany, according to SoftTech Engineers chairman andCEO Vijay Gupta.
