COIMBATORE: Mixed trend prevailed in the coimbatore tea auction, with lesser quantity on offer last week. According to trade sources, ctc dust quoted dearer by Rs.two to Rs.three, while orthodox dust was easier by rs.Two to rs.Three, compared to last level.

While CTC leaf was easier by Rs.one to Rs.1.50, high grown orthodox leaf quoted dearer by Rs.one to Rs.three, they said.

Of the total about 2.99 lakh kg offered, leaf tea accounted for about 2 lakh kgs, the sources said.

Meanwhile at Bangalore, prices of almost all varieties of coffee decreased by Rs 2-3 a kg at India's only coffee auction in line with the global trend of a sharp fall in the commodity's prices.

However, the auctions, conducted by Indian Coffee Trade Association, witnessed a fair demand.
