MUMBAI, Apr 18: The leadership position of Hindustan Lever Ltd (HLL) in the Rs 350-crore shampoo market is likely to be further strengthened with the launch of a mega campaign for the World Cup promoted by its corner-stone brand Clinic All Clear. Clinic All Clear has announced the `Go India Go' Victory Award campaign which offers cash incentives to the India cricket team to win the World Cup matches.The award includes Rs 1.5 lakh for victory of every league match, Rs 2.5 lakh for every super six match, Rs 2.5 lakh for every super six match, Rs 5 lakh at the semi-final stage and Rs 7.5 lakh for winning the World Cup. Clinic All Clear is contributing a sum of Rs 27.5 lakh towards the total prize money.
According to a press release, the promotion encourages the people of India to participate in the World Cup frenzy and pledge their support to India by buying the special Clinic All Clear 80 ml bottle with the `Go India Go'logo. On every purchase of this special bottle of Clinic All Clear, a contribution ofRs 2 per bottle will be made on behalf of the consumer to the `Go India Go' Victory award.
The company has retained the original price of the shampoo brand at Rs 34.50 for 80 ml. Further, on every purchase of this special bottle, the buyer will receive an attractively designed `Go India Go' T-shirt transfer, to wear as a badge of pride.
Clinic All Clear is also available in sizes of 160 ml bottle and sachets of 8 ml. Clinic's market share is over 42 per cent. According to a company spokesperson, the award is being promoted by Clinic because of the association of the brand with youth.
