Petronet LNG inks pact with Chambal Fertilisers

New Delhi, Apr 7: Petronet LNG on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals Ltd for supplying 1.80 million standard cubic metres of liquified natural gas (LNG) per day to the latter's fertiliser plant in Rajasthan. The phase II fertiliser project of CFCL is located at Gadepan, Kota, and according to the MoU, LNG would be supplied from Petronet's terminal to be set up at Dahej in Gujarat, a Petronet LNG statement said here.The release said that the LNG supply for the fertiliser plant would commence from end-2002. Petronet LNG is a consortium of national oil companies set up to import LNG at various terminals in the country. The MoU was signed between the chairman and managing director of Petronet LNG Suresh Mathur and vice-president (marketing) CFCL SM Nadgir, the statement added.
