Jaipur, April 5: Small savings account holders of the State Bank of India (SBI) will now be able to get withdrawals against their fixed deposits on demand thanks to the bank's computerised operated multi-option deposit scheme (MODE). And in the process there will be no loss of interest.Unique in some of its features, MODE provides instant facility of withdrawing money without any of the current hassles, said Anjani Ranjan Lal, deputy general manager.
The FD holder, said Lal, will continue to get the contracted rate of interest on the reduced amount with the FD remaining intact. Giving details of the MODE, Lal said the facility of over-draft in the current account will also be given at the normal rate of interest against term deposits.
