Mumbai, April 5: The Mumbai-based BSES has bagged a Rs 35 crore contract from the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) for enhancing their existing Jebel Ali Free Zone sub-station.Under the contract, an additional 3 km 132 kV cable circuit will be laid to augment the capacity of the sub-station and a new 132 kV gas-insulated switchgear, 40 MVA power transformers and 11 kV switchgears and associated equipment will be installed.
The contract is secured by the international division of BSES which is already executing a Rs 175 crore project for establishment of two 132 kV sub-stations for DEWA. This division has also participated in a number of bids in the middle east for electrification contracts.
The contracts division of BSES has received orders of an aggregate value of Rs 112 crore from Grid Corporation of Orissa for 33/11 kV distribution system for Berhampur and Jeypore district of south Orissa and Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Dhenkanal of central Orissa. The project is funded by the InternationalBank of Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and the tender was awarded under international competitive bidding.
