Fine Drugs zooms 596%With Vorin Laboratories announcing an open offer for the shareholders of ailing Fine Drugs and Chemicals, the share has shot through the roof by 596 per cent in just three trading sessions. The spurt in prices of Fine Drugs indicates that the market expects a turnaround in the company after the acquisition.
SEBI suspends UPSE members
SEBI has suspended two broking firms of Uttar Pradesh Stock Exchange (UPSE), Vinod Kumar & Company and T N Bansal & Company, for two and three months respectively for indulging in illegal carry-forward transactions among other irregularities.

Asian stocks take a hit from Wall Street
Stock markets across Asia fell Wednesday after a sharp overnight drop on Wall Street triggered fears of a correction on the US market, dealers said. Tokyo plunged 3.1 per cent and Hong Kong fell 3 per cent as investors locked in profits on recent gains, dealers said. Singapore and Sydney each eased 0.7 per cent and Kuala Lumpur gave up 1.8 per cent. Bangkok fell 1.5 per cent, Jakarta and Manila retreated 0.9 per cent each and Taipei dropped 0.8 per cent. Seoul ended barely lower.
Select pivotals fall on fresh selling
Prices of select pivotals reacted towards the fag end on the first day of the current settlement at the National Stock Exchance (NSE) today. The market opened on a buoyant note, but a few pivotals declined gradually during the day. Mirroring the general trend, the S&P Cnx Nifty started firm at 1091.15 and rose further to 1091.90. Later, it reacted to end at 1062.80, showing a fresh fall of 10.15over the last close of 1072.95.
