Crossed lines 

 
Rental ceilings for junction lines

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has fixed a monthly rental ceiling of Rs 620 per junction line for subscriber owned group PBX, PABX, EPABX (for office buildings, hotels etc) telephone systems with outgoing and both-ways junction lines.

For incoming junction lines, the ceiling of Rs 620 per month will have a rebate of Rs 50 per month. Call charges have been fixed at Rs 1.20 per metered call. There will no free calls for such subscribers.A similar tariff structure will apply to service provider-owned group PBX, PABX, EPABX users.

In case of franchised group, PBX or PABX and EPABX with DIDI facility (for multistorey buildings, cooperative housing societies and other buildings), monthly rental per junction line has been fixed at Rs 310 for exchanges having 1 lakh and above lines for outgoing and both-ways junctions. The rental will be Rs 220 per months for exchange having 30,000 to 99,999 lines and Rs 160 for exchange with upto 29,999 lines.

Forextension users, monthly rentals will be Rs 125 per month while call charges have been fixed at Rs 1.20 per call. There will be no free calls.

Integrated digital network services

For integrated services digital network (ISDN), monthly rental for primary rate access (PRA) will have a ceiling of Rs 5000 up to 3 km and Rs 2,000 for each additional km or part thereof. The monthly rental ceiling for basic rate access (BRA) has been fixed at Rs 1,000.

The usage charges for every B-channel will be rates as applicable to PSTN as ceilings. There shall be no minimum usage charge.

The monthly rental for ISDN equipment (if hired from the service provider) are as follows: Rs 550 ceiling for ordinary ISDN phone, Rs 800 ceiling for ISDN PC card, Rs 1,100 ceiling for ISDN feature phone, Rs 950 ceiling for terminal adopter, Rs 1600 ceiling for ISDN PBX per port, Rs 12,000 ceiling for G4 fax terminal and Rs 2,700 ceiling for videophone.

Installation and testing charges are: Wiring charges up to networkdterminals for PRA (Rs 4,000 ceiling), wiring charges up to network terminal for BRA (Rs 600 ceiling), ordinary integrated services digital network phone (Rs 275 ceiling), ISDN PC card (Rs 400 ceiling), ISDN feature phone (Rs 550 ceiling), terminal adopter (Rs 475 ceiling), ISDN PBX per port (Rs 800 ceiling), G4 fax terminal (Rs 6000 ceiling) and videophone (Rs 1,350 ceiling).

There will no rentals for supplementary services such as direct dialing in, calling line identification, line hunting, closed user group and user to user signalling etc.

Rentals for temporary integrated services digital network connection are: PRA -- ceiling of Rs 10,000 per month up to 3 kms and Rs 4,000 for each additional km, BRA -- ceiling of Rs 2,000 per month.
