ISP '99 to be held in Delhi from March 15

Our Bureau
New Delhi, March 10: Trade Fairs and Conferences International (TFCI) will be holding ISP '99 in New Delhi from March 15-17 at the Le'Meridien Hotel. Union minister for communication Jagmohan is expected to inaugurate the conference.

ISP '99 is designed to enable potential Indian ISP players to understand and assess services and technology influencing their business. "The deregulation of internet services sector and its acceptance as a strong commerce enabler by Indian businesses has set the stage for private providers to compete on value-added services," said Balmohan Tarakad, CEO, TFCI. According to him, the first two chapters of ISP '99 series, held at Mumbai in January and in Bangalore in March, had a overwhelming response.

The ISP '99 conference is divided into two separate tracks. The Management Track on March 15 will cover macro industry issues such as legal and regulatory structures and the financial implications for the prospective ISPs. The Technology Track on March 16 and 17 will feature paneldiscussions on enabling technologies and e-commerce.

A trade fair will be held concurrently with the conference where vendors such as VSNL, Compaq, Intel and Tata IBM will exhibit hardware, software and services that will help internet service providers stay at the cutting edge of technology.
