Ambuja Cement posts lower net losses in Q2Ambuja Cement Eastern Ltd on Monday reported substantially lower net loss during the second quarter of its financial year ending June 1999 on increased operating profit of Rs 5.84 crore against Rs 2.05 crore in the first quarter. Net loss during october-December 1998 amounted to Rs 75 lakh compared to Rs 4.39 crore in the preceding quarter. During the second quarter, the company sold 2.39 lakh tonnes of cement against 1.84 lakh tonnes in the first quarter. The turnover in the second quarter amounted to Rs 55.91 crore, up by 29 per cent as compared to Rs 43.18 crore in the first quarter.
Tata Infotech develops Healthfone
Tata Infotech Ltd has developed HealthFone, an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system for healthcare organisations. The system is built as a value addition to a healthcare organisation's existing IT structure. The product is an extension of TIL's FonePOST suite of IVR products that have been performing well in the Indian andglobal markets. HealthFone provides information on a patient's condition, name of the attending doctor, lab tests etc.
Oswal Petro told to lift lock-out
The Mumbai high court on Monday ordered Oswal Petrochemicals Ltd to lift the lock-out at its plant and pay back-wages to workers from November last year. The order was delivered by Justice MJ Pandya who dismissed a petition filed by Oswal Petrochemicals challenging the decision of an industrial court which had given a similar direction on January 21 this year. The company had shut down the plant in September last year for carrying out maintenance.
