New Delhi, Mar 4: Eight Indian companies have bagged orders and generated trade enquiries worth Rs. 5 crore at the recently concluded Nurnberg toy fair in Germany.The joint participation was organised by Toy Association of India under the aegis of electronics and software export promotion council and Indo-German export promotion (IGEP) project.
The Indian companies, which displayed soft toys, plastic toys, wooden and tin toys and board games, got serious inquiries from almost all of Europe and the United States at the world's biggest fair, IGEP said in a statement today.
"Indian companies are doing well but they must move faster than their competitors from China, Hong Kong and Korea," IGEP director D Kebschull said.
Exports of toys from India are still in an early stage with exports totalling Rs 60 crore last year.
