Hyderabad, Mar 4: Hindustan Motors plans to expand the dealership centres from the present 12 to 20 for `Mitsubishi Lancer', the international contemporary car that rolled out from the country's oldest car manufacturer in November last year.Addressing a press conference on the eve of opening of Lancer showroom here on Wednesday, Hindustan Motors executive vice-president R Santhanam said 2000 Lancer cars have been sold in the country so far.
The company's plant, set up near Chennai in technical collaboration with Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, Japan, With a investment of Rs 300 crore, has a capacity to produce 40,000 cars per year.
The company currently makes 600 cars in one shift per month, Santhanam said.
